Bastiaan’s piano arrangements are harmonically rich, blending beauty with a tinge of dissonance as they follow intricate rhythms. His sound is warm and deep, yet bright and clear. As Bastiaan played a strangely beautiful counterpoint piece, a classical-jazzy-a’ la’ Jon Batiste kind of unexpected musical architecture, it caught my attention, he played the final run an impossibly fluid scale full of unusual notes that somehow both sweetened and dislodged, and then spontaneously miracle-ized itself into a snake along the carpet that ran right up through my whole chakra system…resulting in pure delight!I had to run uncontrollably across the floor squealing with joy and activation. Bastiaan Berende’s music isn’t categorizable. It is a new art form. Music + energy + transformation.

Oh my gosh, I love Up Jumped Spring, awesome vocals and the chording keeps moving each time, that is so wild. Some of the chords remind me of the composer Bella Bartok, I used to play his songs on piano. I especially like the bridge, absolutely soaring around like SPRING lol, great name for that.The production is EXCELLENT!!
